Bye Bye Cloudy
Late day sunny peaks are a preview of what is coming. Clouds decrease very quickly tonight and the valleys will be cooler than the mountain tops once again tomorrow morning. Temperatures rise considerably tomorrow and that trend continues for the rest of the week. Tuesday through Friday should be fantastic weather days although we can't rule out a brief shower Thursday.
During the last couple of months, we have installed four new weather stations. I'll highlight them here one at a time during the next two weeks.
Skyline Bank has been a great partner with RaysWeather.Com for many years. We placed a new weather station at Hickory, NC's Mountain View Skyline Bank Branch. Located just west of Hwy 321 at 2900 NC-127 at an elevation of 980 feet, this station will give us great temperature, wind, and rainfall data for years to come.

Low pressure just off the Grand Strand coastline is heading out to sea and taking its clouds and unsettled weather with it overnight. Skies began improving with the extended daylight hours bringing bonus sunshine to close out our day.
Warm high pressure centered along the western Gulf coast will nose into western VA tomorrow bringing warm temperatures and dry conditions Tuesday through Thursday. A cold front moves through from the north Thursday night but it should be dry and only cools temperatures down a smidge. It may help generate a brief shower Thursday.
A significant cold front will be moving our way from the west Saturday and it should pass through Sunday morning. Temperatures continue to be warm ahead of the front but will cool down behind it. Winds kick up from the south Saturday and turn to the northwest Sunday, remaining strong and gusty. Rain should develop Saturday afternoon and continue Saturday night and into Sunday morning. The heaviest rain should be Saturday night. There could be some thunderstorms with this front also.
